HOW MUCH RAM IS RECOMMENDED TO RUN A WEBSITE?
I have a website (size 500MB) which will be using upon a dedicated server which now has 256MB of RAM as well as 20GB of hoop space. Is a RAM enough for my website or should we upgrade?
Popularity: unranked []

It depends on the kind of traffic you are expecting and the kind of software you are going to run. If you are going to use bandwidth intensive applications and expect a lot of users, by all means, update the RAM. If you are going to do basic stuff and expect little users, then no upgrade is needed, although to run a web server nowadays, 512MB is recommended. Knowing the system requirements of your http daemon (e.g. Apache) would help a lot.
depends on the popularity of the website – what pages are being accessed and how often – but I would say no you don’t have enough ram you need at least 500 MB and more likely 1 gig
I would definitely upgrade to at least 512 but 1gig is recommended for a web server.
It would depend on how many people visit it, if 100 people visit it every minute…that is not enough ram.
Also, if you streaming video on it..it is FOR SURE not enough ram even if one person visits it every minute…it’s going to slow to a crawl.
